1.Pharmacist

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To follow the departmental SOPs strictly for all the responsibilities assigned.
  • To dispense right medication based on the indents raised after checking the expiry, batch number and the MRP
  • To ensure that all the indents received in the In patient pharmacy are dispatched on time without a delay.
  • To communicate with nursing staffs and doctors for the availability of substitute whenever there is an enquiry for the brands which are not available
  • To ensure that medicines are reached to the respective areas on time by monitoring the house keeping personnels in the In patient pharmacy
  • To have a thorough knowledge of generic, brand names and category of all the available drugs.
  • To co-ordinate with supervisors for procurement of medicines as per the day to day requirements.
  • To guide the Pharma aid for the removal of near expiry, non moving stocks and to report the same to the supervisors.
  • To guide the Pharma aid for receiving and arranging the drugs as per the storage conditions in the respective areas and to monitor for the appropriateness.
  • To co-ordinate between the colleagues of other shifts for any commitments given to the nursing staffs for the patients with respect to the drugs.
  • To prepare GRN in absence of the respective person or in case of emergency.
  • To strictly follow the SOP for the issue of narcotics with the proper documentation.
  • To maintain correct inventory of stock as per the system stock and assist in quarterly stock audit.
  • To monitor usage of restricted antibiotics.
  • To check for appropriateness of prescription for drug dose and drug to drug interactions.
  • To check the packing conditions and quantity of drugs during IP returns.
  • To monitor Refrigerator temperature on day to day basis and to document the same

Roles and Responsibilities

Cost control support

  • Carry out operational review of all expenses (Direct and Indirect) to identify cost saving opportunities. Suggest and Implement control process for discount, disallowance /deductions.
  • Identify areas to strengthen financial policy, processes, documentation, checks and balances to ensure effective cost control
  • Identify and suggest/implement to plug the gaps in the areas of wastage, expiry, scrape, misutilisation of assets/consumables, theft etc

Store/Inventory review and Audit

  • Weekly physical verification and audit of stock at all major sub stores with priority for OT store, Opthal OT, Main store and cath lab stores. Weekly report of audit findings should reach to FD/HOF.
  • Monthly sample based physical verification and audit of stock at all main stores. Monthly report should reach to FD/HOF in 2 days time from month end.
  • Surprise Audit to ensure that all the GRN is prepared on time before the material enters to Main store. Cross verify that all the materials available in store have matching GRN.
  • Monthly sample based physical verification and audit of stock at all main stores and Sub store to identify expeired items. Monthly report should reach to FD/HOF in 2 days time from month end.

Revenue Assurance

  • Pre- Discharge Audit: Audit all Cash Patients IP bills from patient activity reports as well as other reports from HIS to ensure that all the chargeble services and consumable is billed correctly. A weekly report should reach to HOF/FD on the outcome of the outcome of the audit
  • Post- Discharge Audit: Audit all Credit Patients IP bills from patient activity reports as well as other reports from HIS within 2 days from discharge date to ensure that all the chargeble services and consumable is billed correctly. A weekly report should reach to HOF/FD.
  • Pre- Discharge Audit: Verify all level of surgeries, cath and bed side procedures on daily basis to ensure that all the procedures are correctly posted into the system and charged to patients
  • Verify all IP & OP cancelled bills to ascertain that there is no revenue leakage / loss due to process gaps or misappropriation etc. Keep track on bills cancelled on daily basis and provide exceptional reports on audit findings.

Cash Audit

  • Verify all collection and refund for the day and reconcile with actual cash collection and deposit in bank.
  • Surprise verification of cash, Verify all petty cash vouchers / IOU etc.
  • To attend customers queries for billing / refunds / security deposits etc.

G. Ambulance medication kit audit.

  • To carry out the AMS program.
  • Attend the rounds with the consultants. And inform the RMOs about any changes in treatment chart.
  • To ensure compliance of MMU (Medication Management Usage) chapter as per JCI requirement.
  • To ensure compliance of MOM (Management of Medication) as per NABH requirement.
  • To coordinate for PTC, AMS, Infection Control Committee, QIP meetings.
  • To synchronize the duties with other departmental staffs
