Job description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs care of patients under direction of staff nurse
- Assist qualified nurses in delivering healthcare to patients
- Assign consultants in OPD procedure room, checks vital signs and assist patients to the respective consultation rooms for assessment according to the appointments obtained.
- Drapes patients for examinations and treatments and remains with patients, performing such duties as holding instruments and adjusting lights
- Maintain good interpersonal relationship among all categories of staffs, patients and the patient attenders
- Assumes responsibility for all aspects of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of outpatient department
- Proper upkeep of linen and repair of equipment.
- Check inventory of all equipment, crash cart and instruments as per the inventory register and inform the incharge nurse in case of any discrepancies noted.
- Ensure to maintain clean and safe environment for the patient.
- Able to co-ordinates patient care with various health team members.
- Able to accompany stable patients transferred to other departments using wheel chair/ stretchers
- Cleans, sterilizes. Stores, prepares and issues dressing packs, treatment trays and maintains inventory of CSSD and supply.
- Plans and provides health education to patients and relatives.
- Records and Reports any losses and breakage in the unit.
